How we calculate

• WIDTH - the WIDTH measurement is rounded up to the nearest foot to determine the total  number of panels.  Example: 75" = 7 panels, 39" = 4 panels and  54" = 6 panels.
• HEIGHT - To determine the HEIGHT of the panels,  6" is added to the measured height.   Example:  39"  + 6" = 45", 52" + 6" = 58.   Hurricane Depot recommends adding 8" to 10" to the height when applications call for direct mounts or horizontal installations.
• SQUARE FEET - To calculate the total square footage of an opening, the WIDTH (# of panels) is multiplied times the HEIGHT and then divided by 12.  Example:  Window measures 74" x 39".  This would be 7 panels * 45"/12 or 5*45/12 = 26.25 square feet.
